At the “discovery” of Malawi

The "discovery" of Malawi
Traveling to spend volunteering experience, is a bit like going out of oneself, from their limited point of view, to get in the way, or better in game, to the "unknown", free without too many calculations or safety.
The spring that pushes you to start with is the almost physical need and at the same time symbolic: of "meeting" direction and with the other.
Take an adventurous trip to the "discovery of Malawi" that not even know existed, thus becomes an exodus spatial and temporal, that I suddenly throws in full bush next to a bonfire and as if by magic at the same time makes me feel at home
I discover that there is a country in southern Africa that is experiencing a daily tragedy.
Scarce resources, poverty, misery, drought, malnutrition, diseases, in particular AIDS surely reap casualties suoi13 million inhabitants, and make that holds the dubious distinction of having more than two million orphans.
Yet in this "small town" subequatorial delivers the warm heart of Black Africa.
When everything goes better when you eat is a big party polenta and beans. This is their favorite food, but I am equally happy and serene even for the mere fact of meeting you and sharing with them what little they have and at the same time
They do everything to make you share in their joy and make you feel important.
I confess that many times I was ashamed aware not deserve so much joyful welcome, but even more I felt ashamed thinking of all the wealth that we have at our disposal, without being the least grateful
Between a hut and the other can be seen well sorted soil and planted with corn, cotton, tobacco, however, are the huge cracks in the ground for non-rain.
Only cycling you can fully enjoy the natural beauty, test perfumes or make special meetings, animals included
Il Malawi, like most of the African countries, has a rich oral tradition.
Alla sera nei villaggi, alongside the ubiquitous baobab, people gather in a circle around the fire, while the elders tell old stories, the tongues of fire rise from the bonfire and bring the sparks in the sky: le Marawi, hence the name of the country.
I think baby around the fireplace watching my Marawi (sweetbreads of the dead) and I seem to be at home with my children
Proud to Evance I think the baby that I adopted (sponsorship) his village is so poor that even a cistern to collect water.
I open my eyes: women and children sing songs and dances mention, and I without even knowing dance, with their hands clasped vaulting in full swing, aiming for the stars that almost touch it ... and the same moon Petosino?
Who knows, maybe one day, the same can mirror a new well ... thanks to ...
Here most of the tribes have their own dances and melodies, music and traditional dances are deeply rooted in their community functions, the same S. Mass can last several hours without bore.
Contagious is their harmony. Without any preventive therapy have not even been infected by Mal d'Africa?
Thanks to this experience more than "the discovery of Malawi" I "discovered myself, my limits "
I found out how anywhere in the world can be happy when there is full sharing and knowing how to enjoy what abbiamo.Certo is humiliating to me that the lesson is given to its people that we consider wrong: in need around.
But believe me it is so, we could live with their joy
It 'really hard to help these people, especially to assess the best way to do it. Their life continues from ancestral times, punctuated by sunlight, by the seasons and the land they live on E’ right help, but woe to change a lifestyle millennial threatening to give them new needs that they will never meet. Certainly it is a very sensitive issue for careful evaluation. I leave you with this challenge.
In conclusion I can not help but remember when every morning to see the sunrise we sat by the lake with a multitude of children, and we called the "Zuaw" hands protests by saying: auhm.. uhm… aum.
Invariably sprouted the first reflections of the sun, fashioning misleading “tongues of fire ” other Marawi that as they say here, rise every day in our hearts
It stood so the same Zuaw of Sorisole that also means hope in Chichewa.
Africa's future will be more and more literally Black, but there will always be the same sun and the same moon that we have in common White
The time will fade the blacks faces the scents and sounds known in this exciting journey but the emotions shared with this lovely perennial people remain in my heart, remain constant as the smile of Evance who tells me with shining eyes: Cheekbone ....
